"The Green Hornet" by Ross Racing. Build no. 001. Just Bikes Magazine Cover Girl! March 2019 Edition - makes her extra special.
No expense has been spared on this cafe racer build. It's been done just perfect. She is stunning and is virtually a brand new bike.
Originally imported by Deus in 2006 and made into a cafe racer (build specified by the Deus first owner - it just didn't quite look right!) .
Stewart Ross from Ross Racing (SR400 lanspeed record holder and SR400 Aussie Guru) has torn this bike down to the bare frame and rebuilt it from the ground up with all brand new quality parts.
She's travelled just 27,814 kms before the rebuild and has now done 27,824 kms since the rebuild.
Go to SunRIseCars site to see a detailed interview with Stewart regarding the build process and the parts used in the build.
This is a 1995 carbie motor SR400 (more power and better looking than the injected ones).
Mostly Japanese parts including:
Daytona tripples trees and engine lights and instrumentation
Daytona headlight with electronic dieplay odometer, clock, battery voltage meter reading, odometer and trip meter (all new so it's showing 21.5 kms travelled since the rebuild
Wellington WM (Japanese) polished alloy hand welded fuel tank
Monza Racing fuel filler cap by Burnie Willup (who has now sadly passed).
Ikon lightweight lengthened rear suspension with 4 way adjustable damping (the longer length improves the steering response) with Icon performance front fork springs.
Ducati SS style custom side covers in "Green Hornet" Green
Peyton Place front stainless mudguard and Daytona stainless steel rear mud guard.
Peyton Place custom megaphone exhaust stainless with side cutout (so it doesn't scrape) sounds tough but not too loud.
English stainless bar-end mirrors relocated to the "just right" spot! They actually work and they dont stick out!
Immobiliser (factory from Yamaha is still in place and working).
Ignition switch relocated down low and out of the way
Bespoke Ross Racing steering damper (stops dangerous headshakes in the twisties)
Paton Place custom polished kick starter.
Electronics relocated and hidden under the seat.
Nitro Heads Cafe Racer seat.
